Purpose

Welcome to Gold Stars and Paper Cuts!

We are very excited about starting this blog! "We" are a group of young women a few years into our individual journeys in the field of education who decided to collaborate and create a blog dedicated to sharing our educational experiences and ideas. Creativity, genius, and blunders need an outlet.

Our goal is to share the everyday triumphs and defeats of the modern educator. Here you will find our stories, tips, and thoughts on teaching!

Our basic goal for this blog is to:
  1. Share our stories about our education experiences
  2. Share our tips, tricks, and ideas
  3. Encourage and inspire others also in the field
Just as teaching styles evolve and develop over time, so to, we hope, will this blog. Look for new posts from one of us about once a week and even from guest writers. You can read our individual stories, quotes from students, our blunders, and our brilliant ideas. See our creative ways of engaging the different learning styles. Walk with us as we pursue excellence in our teaching and, for some of us, a higher education for ourselves. Hear how we handle sleeping past the alarm, packing quick meals, and making the most of our paychecks. Check out our tips on classroom management, last minute to-do lists from the boss, and writing lesson plans and curriculum. Read about our individual styles and thoughts about life. Walk along side us, think with us, and laugh with us!

Education is such a key element in life. As children, it's an essential part of our daily lives, teaching us necessary information and helping us develop into well rounded adults. As educators, we are one of the few given the privilege to directly influence and train young minds.

If you are a full time educator or a sub, been teaching for 10 days or 10 years, whether involved in public, private, or home education, a teacher or a student, w
e hope to encourage and inspire you.
Remember the joys (those gold stars) and not so heroic moments (paper cuts) of education are all well worth the work and the beautiful smiles on a child's face!

Love!
The givers of gold stars & receivers of paper cuts
